Meet Michelle, our April Mom of the Month!
Michelle is mom to sweet little Maggie who is 5 months old. Michelle first started with Fit4Mom when she was 4 months pregnant with our Fit4Baby prenatal classes. She came to class until 4 weeks before her due date and then started with Stroller Strides as soon as she received clearance at 6 weeks postpartum. And now she has registered for our Body Back Transformation session starting in May. She is our first mom to have gone through all of our programs which just shows how amazing she is and how fitness is a priority no matter what stage of motherhood she is in. Michelle always comes to class with a smile and ready to work hard. When she isn't working out with Fit4Mom she works full time (yes, full time) at Wisconsin Cardiovascular, LLC as a Perfusionist. Originally from Minnesota we are so happy she found her home here. We love having you as part of Our Village, Michelle!
What is your fave thing about Stroller Strides? I love that I can bring Maggie with me and that it gives us some structure to our morning. It’s easy to just sit around and lounge in the morning since she isn’t mobile yet, so going to Strides starts our day in the best way possible. And friends, I love all the friends I’ve made!
What is your favorite exercise at Stroller Strides? I love/hate the cardio. If I run or bike at home I feel like I never push myself hard enough so having others around to motivate me is helpful.
What is your favorite part about being a mom? I love the sense of purpose and focus it has given our family. I think we worry less about other things now because we just want to enjoy our time together.
Favorite thing to do when Maggie is napping? Watch TV. I do a lot of laundry when she is sleeping but I’d rather watch TV and just relax.
What is your favorite thing to do as a family? We like going on walks and our weekly trip to Costco. She loves the bright lights and the carts are huge so we still have room for stuff even if she’s in her car seat. #costcojunkies
What is something about you that someone may not know? I do all the lawn mowing at our house. We have a pretty big yard so it takes almost two hours but I really enjoy the time to myself. We have a push mower (by choice!) so it’s a great workout.
What is your favorite healthy and unhealthy food? My favorite healthy food is strawberries. We used to go pick them all the time when I was growing up and my parents would find me just sitting on the ground eating them right off the bush. They never even made it into my bucket. They always joked they should have weighed me before and after to see how much I ate. Favorite unhealthy food is anything peanut butter/chocolate. Reese’s eggs, yum. It’s a good thing I am starting Body Back after Easter and not before.
What is your favorite color? Blue of any shade!
What is your favorite song or artist? I like listening to the radio but I’m not adire hard fan of anyone really. When I ran a half marathon I did listen to NickiMinaj’s “Starships” for the last 6 miles on repeat so maybe that!
What TV shows are you currently watching? Fixer Upper, gotta love Chip and Jo. And my husband and I like to watch The Office reruns on Netflix after Maggie has gone to bed.
